Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Linear Audio Tech collects through linearaudiotech.com, why, and what you can do about it. In short: if you join the waitlist, we store your email address so we can tell you about our releases. We don't track you, and we never sell personal data.
1. Who is responsible
Linear Audio Technologies, a company registered in Brazil that operates under the name Linear Audio Tech, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Privacy contact: hello@linearaudiotech.com. As a small processing agent under Brazilian law (ANPD Resolution CD/ANPD No. 2/2022), we have not appointed a data protection officer. Send any privacy question or request to this address.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist
We store three things, and only if you submit the form:
- Your email address, with surrounding spaces removed and converted to lowercase.
- The date and time you signed up, in UTC.
- Your country, as a two-letter code (for example, BR) that our host, Cloudflare, derives from your IP address when you submit the form. We don't store the IP address with your sign-up.
If you submit the same address again, nothing new is stored and the original sign-up time is kept.
To protect the form from abuse
Each time someone submits the form, we keep a short-lived counter to limit repeated attempts (5 every 10 minutes). It holds a one-way hash (SHA-256) of the IP address, the start of the 10-minute window, and the number of attempts. It doesn't include your email address. Counters older than one hour are deleted automatically the next time the form is used.
The form also has a hidden field that people don't see. If it comes back filled in, we treat the submission as automated and store nothing.
When you visit the site
Requests to linearaudiotech.com pass through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. Cloudflare also asks your browser to report connection failures to Cloudflare (Network Error Logging). We don't keep access logs of our own. Our Cloudflare dashboard shows us traffic statistics and details of requests that Cloudflare blocks as threats.
When you email us
If you write to an address at linearaudiotech.com, your message, your email address and anything you include are stored in our mailbox.
What we don't collect
The site has no analytics, advertising or social media scripts, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting. We don't ask for your name, and we don't buy data about you from anyone.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- Waitlist: to email you about Linear Audio Tech releases, such as product launches and availability. Legal basis: your consent (LGPD art. 7, I; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). We won't use your address for anything else.
- Abuse protection and site security: to keep the site and the form working and free of spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (LGPD art. 7, IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
- Replying to your emails: to answer what you asked. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding (LGPD art. 7, IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
We don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similar effects.
4. Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site, delivers it, protects it, and stores the waitlist in its Cloudflare D1 database. The database's primary location is Eastern North America (United States).
- Google (Google Workspace) runs our email. Messages you send us are stored there.
We don't send waitlist emails yet. If we start using a dedicated email-sending service for release emails, we will name it here before the first email goes out.
We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers. We disclose data to authorities only when the law or a valid order requires it.
5. International transfers
Cloudflare and Google store and process data outside Brazil and outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. For these transfers we rely on the safeguards in their data processing terms, such as standard contractual clauses (LGPD art. 33; GDPR art. 46).
6. How long we keep it
- Waitlist: until you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it, or until we stop running the waitlist, whichever comes first.
- Abuse-protection counters: deleted automatically once they are more than an hour old, the next time the form is used.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request and keep a record of our correspondence.
- Technical data at Cloudflare: according to Cloudflare's own retention rules.
7. Your rights and choices
Leave the waitlist. Email hello@linearaudiotech.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete it. Every release email will also include an unsubscribe link. Joining is optional: if you don't, you can still use the site; you just won't get release emails.
Under the LGPD (Brazil) you can ask us to: confirm whether we process your data; give you access to it; correct it; anonymize, block or delete data that is unnecessary or excessive; port it to another provider; delete data processed with your consent; tell you whom we share it with; and explain what happens if you don't consent. You can withdraw consent at any time. You can also petition the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD).
Under the GDPR (EU/EEA), where it applies, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent at any time; this doesn't affect processing done before. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
How to ask. Email hello@linearaudiotech.com. We may ask you to confirm that you control the email address in question. We reply within 15 days.
8. Cookies
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's local storage. The only script on the site sends the waitlist form without reloading the page. If this changes, we'll update this section first.
9. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. The waitlist database is not public and can be accessed only through our Cloudflare account. No system is perfectly secure; if an incident could put you at risk, we'll notify you and the competent authorities as the law requires.
10. Children
The waitlist is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please don't sign up. If you believe a minor has joined, write to us and we'll delete the entry.
11. Sales, licenses and activation (coming later)
This section will be updated before sales start. We don't sell anything yet. When we do, this policy will also cover:
- orders and payments, handled by a merchant of record that acts as the seller and processes payment and tax data under its own privacy policy;
- license and activation data, such as license keys and identifiers of the computers on which you activate a plugin;
- data needed to run time-limited trials;
- support requests.
12. Changes and contact
When we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use waitlist data, we'll tell you before it applies and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
